LEATHERFACE by Dana Mikhael (18+)
LEATHERFACE introduces "He" who loves to dress as the hero of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and is interrupted by the untimely return of 'She'. The cruelty of reality interferes with his game.
SYNOPSIS
Written in 1994, LEATHERFACE introduces us to the world of “He”, a writer and poet. He is an avid lover of horror films and is interrupted by the untimely return of “She”. When he tries to conceal his antics, the cruelty of the system interferes with his game. Helmutkrausser’s two-person play Lederfresse is, as critics rightly judge, a “slightly macabre, essentially rather normal love story”. Although love is probably the central theme, the play is also about violence exercised by a power that sets itself as sovereign, or, to use Foucault’s terms, about a collision with the legal systems of sovereignty. - Excerpt from “Re-dramatized Eros” by Spela Virant
